Who Are We?

Supporting Foster Carers in the Sefton Area

The Sefton Foster Care Association (SFCA) was established in 2024 to bring foster carers (including mainstream, kinship and connected carers) for Sefton Council together and provide them with a stronger voice that could influence and develop support services in the county.

SFCA aims are to:

  • To offer mutual support to all foster carers.

  • To promote good working partnerships between foster carers, other types of carer groups/associations and the local authority.

  • To encourage and help carers to work well with professionals.

  • To represent carers as a group.

  • To enable carers to better meet the needs of children and young people in our care.

  • To promote communication and understanding between carers and others involved in caring for children in Sefton.

All Sefton Council Foster Carers (mainstream, kinship or connected) are automatically members of the SFCA.
